I have one of my own, a Springfield Armory made post D-Day between July and August 1944. It is fed a steady diet of Greek surplus M2 Ball. Always a big hit at the range, and I bring plenty of full clips for anyone that wants to lose their M1 virginity.
Call me old school, but my M1 is my go to SHTF/zombie apocalypse weapon. A single center mass hit means the target goes down and stays down.
