Cora out as Red Sox Manager
UPDATE: News Conference Today 1PM EST at Fenway

BOSTON — The Boston Red Sox and manager Alex Cora have “mutually agreed to part ways,” according to an official release from the team on Tuesday evening.

Cora’s dismissal comes one day after MLB released the findings of their investigation into the Houston Astros sign-stealing controversy in the 2017 season that culminated in the Astros’ World Series title. Before being hired as the Red Sox’ manager in the 2018 offseason, Cora was the bench coach for the Astros.

Cora was not punished by the league because MLB decided to release his discipline after they had conducted an investigation into allegations that the Red Sox were electronically stealing signs during their 2018 regular season.

Discipline looms for Alex Cora after MLB punishes Astros for sign-stealing

BOSTON — Major League Baseball has announced steep punishments for the Houston Astros in response to allegations that the team, “engaged in sign-stealing methods,” in the team’s 2017 season, where they went on to win the World Series.

In a 9-page statement from Commissioner Rob Manfred, the MLB suspended Astros manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow for a full season beginning on January 13, 2020 and continuing through the end of the 2020 World Series.

Former Assistant GM Brandon Taubman is considered, “ineligible to perform services on behalf of any Major League Club,” through the end of the 2020 season. He will have to apply to Commissioner Manfred for reinstatement after that point.

Snoop Dogg, the self-proclaimed “biggest Beyond Meat fan,” is teaming up with Dunkin’ once again for a new sandwich featuring Beyond Sausage, but this collaboration is only available for a limited time.

The “Beyond D-O-Double G Sandwich” will only be available from Jan. 13 – Jan. 19 at participating shops nationwide.

The sandwich “features a Beyond Breakfast Sausage patty with egg and cheese, served on a sliced glazed donut.”

Beyond Meat produces 100 percent plant-based protein products that serve as a meat substitute.
