MANCHESTER NH — A 65-year-old grandmother said she didn’t have time to think when she pulled out her .32-caliber handgun and shot a man (in the chest) who tried to mug her outside her south Manchester apartment building late Monday.
She had just gotten off work as a poker dealer. It was about 11:30 p.m. As she made her way to the building, she said a man exited the car, ran ahead of her and blocked her path.
“As soon as he went to grab me with his left hand, I pulled (the gun) out and shot him. I didn’t even think about it. I thought my safety was in danger,” said the woman, who asked that her name or image not be publicized.

Report: Militia, Bundys occupy wildlife refuge headquarters in Oregon
Militia Occupation in Oregon Part II— The Reactions
On Saturday, the Oregonian reported that members of the Bundy family joined what it called “hard-core militiamen” to occupy the headquarters of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge 50 miles southeast of Burns, Oregon.
According to a post at Oregon Live:
The occupation came shortly after an estimated 300 marchers – militia and local citizens both – paraded through Burns to protest the prosecution of two Harney County ranchers, Dwight Hammond Jr. and Steven Hammond, who are to report to prison on Monday.
Among the occupiers is Ammon Bundy, son of Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, and two of his brothers. Militia members at the refuge claimed they had as many as 150 supporters with them. The refuge, federal property managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, was closed and unoccupied for the holiday weekend.
