Republicans and other fans of comedy rejoiced last week when Alec Baldwin declared he was done playing Donald Trump on SNL. There's plenty of humor to be mined from the Trump presidency, but you won't find it on that show. Baldwin's Trump impression was shoddy to begin with, and over the years it's only gotten worse. Last week, he finally realized it. I greeted Baldwin's rare moment of lucid self-awareness with a pleasant smile and a sense of exhausted relief.
