OKLAHOMA CITY —Gov. Kevin Stitt on Wednesday signed a bill that would allow some Oklahomans to carry a firearm without a permit into law.
House Bill 2597 was the first bill Stitt has signed into law since he was elected Oklahoma's 28th governor. He signed the bill a couple hours after the state Senate passed it.
House Bill 2597, also known as the "constitutional carry" bill and was authored by Senate Major Leader Kim David and Rep. Jon Echols, passed Wednesday with a 40-6 vote.

FALMOUTH — A snowplow driver who allegedly targeted a group of anti-Trump protesters, spraying them with slush and ice as they demonstrated on the Falmouth Village Green on Presidents Day, faces charges of disorderly conduct and assault.
John C. Pimental, 31, of Mashpee, will be summonsed to Falmouth District Court to answer to the charges, according to Falmouth police Lt. Douglas DeCosta.
Pimental is a contractor who plows for the town of Falmouth, assigned to the area of Woods Hole, DeCosta said. The village green where the incident occurred was not part of his plow route, DeCosta said.

According to the Inrix study, Boston drivers lost, on average, 164 hours due to traffic congestion.
That means Boston drivers lost up to $2,291 per year due to congestion.
Boston was the only U.S. city included in the top 10 most congested cities worldwide as part of the findings.
"That doesn’t mean we’re okay with the status quo — far from it," Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said in a posting to the city's website. "Excessive congestion is harming our environment, our economy, and our quality of life right now."
The site lists what the city is doing to ease congestion and diversify transit options for residents and commuters.
The rankings: Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, New York and Los Angeles round out the top 5 worst in Hours lost during "Rush Hour" traffic congestion.
