In the bailouts of 2008, a select few banks headquartered on Wall Street received an inordinate sum of money just because they were "too big to fail". We now know through a partial audit of the Federal Reserve that a huge chunk was to foreign banks. Congress was intimidated in passing TARP after being told there would be martial law if they did not.<br /><br />Sounds kind of violent to me.<br /><br />Oh, and some of that Wall Street bailout money went to go setting up the Libyan Central Bank - I know I'm none to happy about that.<br /><br />Lots of people have lost their retirements because of Wall Street. You don't have to be a hippie to be upset about it.
