Some Gave All

In Flanders Fields
John McCrae, 1915.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

FBI investigate Quabbin Reservoir trespassing

It's only the primary water supply for Boston ... No Worries, Right?
BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – Seven individuals originally from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore will be summonsed to court for trespassing after a Mass. State Police trooper found them on the grounds of the Quabbin Reservoir early Tuesday morning.

A trooper in the area of the Quabbin Reservoir at about 12:30 a.m. discovered two cars parked on the grass at the reservoir's middle entrance. As he approached, he saw seven people, five males and two female, walking away from the reservoir towards the cars.

The male individuals told police they were chemical engineers, and all the individuals claimed to be recent college graduates. They told police they were interested in the reservoir because of their education and career interests.

The trooper determined the people were trespassing and in violation of the no trespassing law and requested backup.

Officers arrived on scene and checked the cars, park area, and the people and did not find any items out of place or of criminal nature.

Authorities performed background checks and no warrants, detainers, or advisories were issued on any of the individuals who now reside in Amherst, Cambridge, Sunderland, Northampton, and New York City.

Following an investigation, the individuals were allowed to leave as there was no evidence of any criminal activity or tampering with the water system; however, the individuals will be summonsed to court for the offense of trespassing.

The Commonwealth Fusion Center identified the individuals as being from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore; however, their exact names will not be released prior to their court date.

The investigation is ongoing.

1963 Chevy Corvette Rondine
Called the Chevrolet Corvette Rondine, the car seen above is the world's only steel-bodied Corvette ever produced. It is a concept car that was created for the Paris Auto Show. Based on the 1963 body-style, this metal machine was housed in the Pininfarina museum in Italy until 2008. From there it wound up crossing the stage at a Barrett-Jackson auction where it fetched $1.76 million and became the most expensive Corvette ever sold at auction.

In the early 1960s when many manufacturers were switching to a unitary chassis, the fiberglass-bodied Corvette was a popular subject for Europe's coachbuilders. At the 1963 Paris Auto Show, Pininfarina launched this Corvette-based, steel-bodied Rondine Coupe commissioned by Chevrolet. The car featured a 327 cubic-inch, 360 hp V8 with a 4-speed transmission and power brakes. This historically significant prototype has been stored and persevered at the Pininfarina Museum in Italy for almost 45 years and has been shown only on very few occasions. It was finally sold earlier in 2008. 2008 was its first appearance at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

For the 1963 season the famous Italian coachbuilder Pininfarina prepared this unique coupe based on the new Corvette Sting Ray. It was penned by U.S. born designer Tom Tjaarda, while working for Pininfarina. This dramatic design incorporates such elements as an increased front overhang with a prominent sloping nose to give the car an even longer appearance. Its large wrap-around windscreen and white leather upholstery give the car's greenhouse a particular bright appearance. While it's 'pinched' rear deck, with the rear fenders kicked up over the wheel arches is similar to a Fiat of the late 1960s. This fabulous one-off Corvette was retained by Pininfarina for over 40 years and displayed in their lobby.

Good Monday Morning to You

It's being called the first music video made in space.

In an online video, astronaut Chris Hadfield sings the David Bowie song "Space Oddity" while floating around in zero gravity aboard the International Space Station.

The video features shots of a floating guitar that would look like a Hollywood special effect anywhere else. It also shows arresting images of the space station orbiting over Earth.

Hadfield and astronaut Thomas Marshburn are scheduled to return to Earth on Monday. Read more: http://www.foxnews.com/science/2013/05/13/astronaut-makes-music-video-to-david-bowie-song-aboard-international-space/?test=latestnews#ixzz2TAPk1ftf

BRATTLEBORO -- Carbon Harvest has run out of cash. The Burlington-based company this week was forced to furlough six of its 11 workers in Brattleboro, President Don McCormick disclosed Thursday, adding that he is searching for financing to keep the company operational.

But McCormick also said rumors of Carbon Harvest's closure are "greatly exaggerated," and he expects the company to bounce back.

BRATTLEBORO, Vt. (AP) — A Vermont company that tried to develop a sustainable food, energy and algae system has filed for bankruptcy.

Carbon Harvest of Brattleboro filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection last week.

Carbon Harvest was able to capture the methane gas and produce energy, but the food, fish and algae systems were never commercially viable.
